Leçon de Piano, designed for the Disklavier piano, is a work created from words and the Pantone colour chart. The work is presented in a dark room. Colours and letters are video projected on a piano keyboard, which becomes a landscape for the coexistence of colours, sounds and words. Each letter, each coloured presence on one of the keys of the piano pushes that key down, The keys are held by an invisible system, as if pushed down by the weight of the letters. Colours and letters appear in a seemingly random manner until there is the construction of a complete sentence. As the sentence is completed, both the colours and the letters slowly fade to the sound of the piano. Once all the elements have all but faded away, a new sentence is played.
