SCORIES (scoria) by Jocelyn Robert, was produced for C'EST ARRIVÉ PRÈS DE CHEZ-VOUS (it happened near you), an event organized by conservator Nathalie Deblois at the Musée National des beaux-arts du Québec (Quebec National Museum of Fine Arts) in the fall of 2008. It is a compilation of pieces, most of which were published between 1988 and 2008, and some that were not yet published. What is notable about the pieces chosen is that none is available on a solo CD. Some can be found in various compilations by different artists, and there are also pieces composed for the theatre or for public events. Even though it covers more than 20 years of creations, the result is still unified. SCORIES provides a glimpse into a little-known part of Jocelyn Robert’s audio works.
